Maddy Greenwald grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland painting the local landscape. She studied art at the University of Wisconsin but became a lawyer and took a several year hiatus from painting to work in women’s health advocacy. She always knew she would return to her passion of painting. After treatment for breast cancer, she was determined to live her dream and began the journey of becoming a full time artist. As a Toronto based artist for several years, much of her work focussed on capturing the uniqueness of the Canadian landscape. She was also fortunate to travel extensively, and enjoyed painting from her adventures around the world. Her work has been exhibited in galleries throughout Canada including two solo shows.
Maddy returned to Maryland in 2022 and she is thrilled to return to her roots, capturing the beauty of the DC region. Maddy’s paintings have received numerous awards and been acquired by collectors in the US, Canada, and Europe.

Using bold and vibrant acrylics, I create dynamic landscapes that capture the beauty of nature and everyday moments. From the soft glow of sunrise to the bustling energy of city streets, I capture the magic of life's simplest moments. Each piece is a reflection of places that speak to me, encouraging a deeper connection to the natural beauty in our daily lives.
