Deborah R. Hill is a professional artist, working primarily in abstract realism style. Deborah earned her BFA from the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY, where she was classically trained in painting. In her schooling, she was awarded the Faculty of Arts and Letters for outstanding achievement in the field of art. Through differing balances of color, brushwork, and paint applications, she tries to create a time and place for my subject matter, whether it be a landscape, animal, or still life. Finding inspiration in the depth of color and form in the natural world, rural vistas, beach, marsh, shorelines, this visual vocabulary is what guides her work. Before returning to painting full-time in 2010, she was the owner of Deborah R Hill Interiors, a residential and commercial design business.

“Often, the horse is a subject in my paintings. I pay homage to the majestic animal that has catered to the needs of mankind for centuries and allowed us one of the first means of mobility. The studio Lucky Hill is located in a barn on our 15-acre homestead in Aurora, NY, where I live with my husband and Dog India.”
