ROdgers Naylor & Maud Taber-THomas

Rodgers Naylor and Maud Taber-Thomas share an eye for the poetic through found moments of light and color. This show will move the viewer all over the world as they get a glimpse into the perspectives of Rodgers and Maud during their travels.

Rodgers Naylor: When asked where I get my ideas and inspiration, the shortest and best answer is "everywhere". I consider myself fortunate to live in a beautiful place, Colorado, and could find a lifetime of painting ideas without ever leaving the state…but I love to travel and consider it essential. What I am looking for in a painting idea is an interesting arrangement of color and especially light, and a bit of human interest.

Maud Taber-Thomas: I like working in miniature, on a larger than life scale, and every size in between to endow my works with a sense of fleeting natural light, a celebration of color, and a sense of peace and thoughtfulness. In my travels, I love observing the idiosyncrasies of color and light that are unique to each place I visit, capturing in paint the subtleties that a camera can’t record. My landscape and cityscape paintings feature scenes and places that hold both literary and personal significance.
