Stephen Day
Stephen Day, born in Nottingham, England 1944.
His oil paintings range from waterscapes, abstracts, to bird portraits. He is most enthused when painting waterscapes in semi-realism (abstract-realism) where color - and in some cases texture - are the media, and message. Subject matter comes from a considerable amount of domestic and international travel, and an eye for converting a particular view, sketch, or photograph to his semi-realism.
Day’s recent work focuses largely on the Chesapeake Bay (Chesapeake Rhythms), and the abstract fusion of sky, land, and water.
Numerous of these recent paintings will be on display at the Thomas Moser furniture store in Georgetown, January through March, 2010
